Custom OTC Development and Manufacturing

There are many types of OTC products that treat specific mild and severe ailments. OTC medicines often do more than relieve aches, pains and itching. Some can prevent diseases like tooth decay, cure infection like athlete's foot and, with a doctor's guidance, help manage recurring conditions like vaginal yeast infection, migraine and minor arthritis pain.

We specialize in manufacturing topical OTC products that come in the form of creams, gels, lotions, sprays and ointments (such as sunscreens), pain & itch relievers, wound & burn care, and acne prevention systems. While we have an extensive line of quality products to choose from we can also create customized product formulations. As an added bonus, we also provide marketing information as well as packaging and design services to help you meet all your manufacturing needs.

What are OTC Drugs?

Over-The-Counter (OTC) medicines are types of drugs that can be purchased without a prescription from a health care professional retail outlet. In many countries, OTC drugs are selected by a government agency to ensure that the ingredients are safe and effective when used without a physician's care. In the United States the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) determines whether medicines are prescription or nonprescription.¶ The FDA regulates OTC medicines by Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API's), not final products. By regulating API's instead of specific drug formulations, manufacturers have the freedom to formulate ingredients, or combinations of ingredients, into proprietary mixtures.[1]
